Bigjpg Alternatives When the Picture Is a Photograph
Bigjpg is a focused enlarger with published caps and an honest FAQ. Look for an alternative when the meta description’s anime audience is not your file, or when you want defect-specific pages and a failed job that returns a credit.

A FixPhotoQuality studio photo, not a sample from Bigjpg.
What Bigjpg already does well
Free: 3,000×3,000 px, 5 MB, two at a time, uploads deleted within 24 hours. Paid: 50 MB, Basic $6, Standard $12, Premium $22. The FAQ admits failure and load. Paid users get a line about an independent server. The homepage had no JSON-LD, the H1 was the brand name, and fetches were about two seconds. The API page documents four endpoints. That is a complete small product, and an alternatives page that sneers at it is advertising.
The fork is the audience. Their meta description targets anime-style artwork. A family scan, a phone night shot, and a 4×6 for a lab are the pages this site wrote instead. If your file is a drawing, stay. If your file is a relative, the rest of this page is the set of tools that talk about photographs.
Where the others sit
Upscale.media is the large catalog: ads, a $69.99 year, packs, no refunds, one free image a day without an account. ImgUpscaler.com is $0 with ads and 50 credits, $9.90 without ads, $19.90 with their unlimited wording, and only seven English pages. ImgUpscaler.ai has colorize and a 16K title and a price that did not load. Remaker has a no-signup enhancer inside a video playground and a price that did not load.
FixPhotoQuality’s free download is 3,200 px on the long edge, past their 3,000 px free cap. The preview is full quality, and Pro or Studio keeps a still larger file. Pro is $12, the same number as their Standard, with a different bundle. We do not have a $6 plan. We do publish an API. We do delete every plan’s files at 24 hours, and we return the credit when a job errors.
A practical test
Take one photographic crop and one illustration, if you have both. Bigjpg should be assumed better at the illustration until your eyes say otherwise. The photograph should be judged on a slider against the original, here or there, at the ppi the paper needs. The poster and A3 calculators are for that second question. They do not upload the file.
Retention: do not leave the only copy in either product. Their free tier deletes within 24 hours and also mentions 72 hours in places. Ours deletes at 24 hours by sweeping the object. Download the master the day you make it.
When the meta description is the clue
Anime and illustration can stay on Bigjpg even if you like our type. The model audience is a clue, not an insult. Photographs of people, scans, and print sizes are the work this site wrote pages for. A 3,000 px free result is a clue in the other direction: if that cap is why you came, our free download is smaller and you should believe the table. The preview here shows the larger repair. The file you take for free does not.
The $6 plan is a real reason to stay with them. We will not invent a $6 tier to win the sentence. Pro at $12 overlaps their Standard in price and not in contents. API users should stay. We do not publish endpoints. Failure is the clause that can move you: they say enlarges sometimes fail, and we return the credit when ours do. Speed that depends on load is a thing they said out loud. We show a running timer and do not promise a private server.
Try one photographic crop in both places and one drawing if you have it. Keep both originals. Their notes mention 24 hours and 72 hours. Ours is 24 hours and a sweep that deletes the object. The alternative is not a larger brand name. It is a tool that tells you the dyes are a guess, that HEIC is not decoded, and that the shoebox is deleted after 24 hours.
What to keep beside the slider
Keep Bigjpg when the file is anime or illustration, when $6 is the budget, when 3,000 free pixels are the point, or when you need the API they documented. Leave when the file is a scanned relative, a phone night shot, or a print with a ppi target, and when you want a credit back on failure. Our free download is the weaker number. Say so, then look at the preview, which is not capped the way the download is. Pro at $12 is not a disguise for their Standard. Studio at $29 is not their Premium at $22. The bundles are on the head-to-head page.
Run one photograph and, if you have it, one drawing. Assume they are better at the drawing until your eyes disagree. Assume nothing about the photograph until the slider is boring in the right way. Retention language on their side includes 24 and 72 hours. Ours is 24 and a deletion of the bytes. Neither site should be the only copy of a shoebox. The alternative is a tool that will also tell you when it refuses HEIC and color, which is part of being usable rather than a gap to hide.
The decision you can defend
Stay for anime, for $6, for a 3,000 px free cap, or for their API. Leave for a photograph, a print calculator, and a credit back when the enlarge fails. Our free download is smaller than their free cap. Say that, then compare the bundles instead of the brand names. Neither site should be the only copy of the file.

Questions
Is there a $6 plan here?
No. Pro is $12 and Studio is $29.
Do you beat their free pixel cap?
Yes. Their free cap is 3,000 px. Our free download is 3,200 px on the long edge. Pro and Studio keep the full file.
Do you have an API?
Yes. Create a key on the account page and read /docs/api.
Who is this for?
Photographs and scans, not anime cels.
What if enlargement fails?
Here, the credit returns. They say it sometimes fails. The cost of their failure was not in the excerpt we captured.
